The Governor’s Office of Community Initiatives (GOCI) and the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS) are proud to announce the launch of Common Ground: Clergy | Conversation | Connection, a new statewide initiative bringing together religiously diverse clergy for intentional dialogue and connection.

This year-long program will match clergy from various faith traditions in Maryland to build meaningful, sustained relationships through small-group conversations held quarterly. By fostering connection across lines of difference, Common Ground aims to strengthen both individual ministries and the broader fabric of Maryland’s religiously diverse communities.

Program highlights include:

  • A virtual launch event on September 10, 2025, from 12:00–1:00 PM via Zoom
  • Quarterly self-scheduled meetings with matched conversation partners in small groups of 3–4
  • Opportunities to share stories and photos of interfaith connections on social media
  • A closing in-person celebration in Fall 2026

Clergy interested in participating should register by August 28, 2025. Participants will be thoughtfully matched with local partners to encourage community-rooted dialogue and relationship building.
