John Rivera worked for 14 years as a reporter and editor for The Baltimore Sun, where he served as a suburban bureau chief, a rewrite man, and covered the religion beat, specializing in explanatory stories on religious and theological trends. Since 2005, he has worked in nonprofit communications, most notably with Catholic Relief Services, Lutheran World Relief and Corus International. He has a B.A. in Journalism with a concentration in Asian Studies from California State University, Northridge and an M.A. in Systematic Theology from the Washington Theological Union.
