About the Panelists
Tim Hall, Ph.D., is a K-12 Social Studies Instructional Specialist, Executive Director of Religion Matters, and President of the North Carolina Council for the Social Studies. He also serves as Vance County Coordinator for the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust, as a member of the Education Advisory Board of the Tanenbaum Center for Interreligious Understanding, and as a co-moderator of SSchat. Dr. Hall is the author of several textbook supplements, curriculums, standards, and popular history texts, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to World History and The Complete Idiot’s Guide to the Middle Ages.
Christine Gallagher currently serves as the Head of Programs and Program Director for Teachers and Schools at the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS). She leads a yearlong fellowship for public, private, and independent school teachers to explore how religion is present in their curriculum and to gain confidence in talking about religion in the classroom.
Kate Soules, Ph.D., is an education researcher and independent consultant specializing in religious literacy and religious diversity education. She works with organizations to assess the outcomes and effects of their programs so that they can increase the reach and impact of this work.
Her research examines the assessment and evaluation of religious literacy education, teacher professional learning about religion, and the impacts of religious literacy education for both students and educators.
