About the Panelists and Facilitator

Rev. Joe Ella Darby, M.S., M.Div., Panelist
The Rev. Joe Ella Darby is the Vacation Bible School Coordinator at the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., in Nashville. Rev. Darby is an active member—serving as Assistant to the Pastor for Discipleship—of First Baptist Church, Capitol Hill. She is also a PRN chaplain with Alive Hospice.

Tala Drammeh, M.A., L.G.P.C., Panelist
Tala Drammeh works as a licensed psychotherapist and teaches at Towson University as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department. He earned both his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Religious Studies and Master of Arts in Counseling at Towson University. Before becoming a therapist, Tala worked as a mentor for two years at Advanced Behavioral Health in Baltimore, where he worked with black male youth from the ages of 5 to 19.

Emily Kearns, Ph.D., M.B.A., Panelist
Emily Kearns is currently the Coordinator for Dementia Friendly Baltimore County with the Baltimore County Department of Aging, providing community-wide dementia education, resources, and care partner support. Emily was formerly the lead for Dementia Friendly Massachusetts and a consultant with the Massachusetts Lifespan Respite Coalition, evaluating innovative respite programs and hosting a TV show called, Caring for Others, Caring for Ourselves.

Zeena Regis, M.Div., Panelist
Zeena Regis serves as the Director of Faith Engagement/ Priority Populations at Compassion & Choices, the nation’s oldest, largest, and most active nonprofit working to improve care, expand options, and empower everyone to chart their end-of-life journey. Prior to her role with Compassion & Choices, Zeena served as a hospice chaplain and grief care coordinator for almost a decade.

Alisha Wimbush, Th.D., Facilitator | ICJS Program Director for Religious Leaders
Alisha Wimbush is the ICJS program director for religious leaders. She has a B.A. in Social Work from Messiah College and is a graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA, where she earned both her M.Div. and a Th.D. in Pastoral Care and Counseling. Most recently Alisha served as an Associate Chaplain at a continuing care retirement community in Pennsylvania. She has more than 15 years of experience working and providing leadership in nonprofit and congregational settings. She is passionate about building bridges across diverse communities and finding creative ways to foster relationships.
