Job Title:                                             Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The ICJS Development Manager reports to the Director of Development and will manage organizational fundraising efforts with a focus on the Annual Fund, grant processes, and department operations. This is a full-time, at-will position.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Annual Fund (33%)

Responsible for the creation and production of all Annual Fund activities to grow the donor base

  • Write, create and produce appeal mailings (3-4 per year)
  • Segment mailing list to ensure accurate and appropriate solicitation
  • Create email solicitations
  • Focus on building the Sustainers’ Circle (monthly donors with online gifts)

Grant Process (33%)

  • Help create, prepare, research and write grant proposals
  • Submit and track grant applications, reports, and submissions to funders; Manage deadline calendar
  • Develop deep knowledge and understanding of ICJS programs and events to communicate about them effectively with donors and prospects
  • Conduct prospect research to identify potential funders

Development Operations (33%)

  • Manage CRM database (EveryAction), including data entry for new gifts and new constituents, including pledges.
  • Produce acknowledgment letters, including tribute and memorial notifications;
  • Run queries and reports on donor and donation information; develop deep expertise in how to use the data available in the system for effective fundraising and relationship management
  • Create documentation of  all department procedures for database management
  • Manage recurring donations, including assisting donor with credit card issues

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree
  • 5  years professional experience; development experience preferred, but not required
  • Passion for ICJS’s mission and interest in expanding your own religious and interreligious literacy
  • Positive experience with encountering religious difference;
  • Ability to write clearly and succinctly for different purposes and platforms on complex topics;
  • Experience with using databases, including entering data and running queries; Interest in understanding how the database works, not just how to follow the instructions of using it
  • Self-starter, independent thinker, and a good sense of humor;
  • Able to attend occasional evening or off-hour events.

SALARY AND BENEFITS 

  • $70,000–$80,000
