How to Include ICJS in Your Will

Sample Language for Your Bequest

Including in your will a gift to ICJS—called a bequest—can ensure that your legacy conveys your commitment to building the interreligious society. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.

All unrestricted charitable gifts will be used where most needed when the gift is received. If you have a specific purpose in mind, please first contact Laura Urban (contact below) to discuss if we can meet your wishes.

Below are examples of language to use in your will or trust.

Percentage Bequest

A gift based on a percent of the value of your estate.

“I give to the Institute of Islamic, Christian, & Jewish Studies, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation (federal tax I.D. #52-1531016), currently located at 956 Dulaney Valley Rd., Baltimore, MD 21204, ___% of my estate.”

Specific Bequest

A gift of a specific item or asset in your estate.

“I give to the Institute of Islamic, Christian, & Jewish Studies, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation (federal tax I.D. #52-1531016), located at 956 Dulaney Valley Rd., Baltimore, MD 21204, $_________ [or insert description of security or other property or asset].

Residuary Bequest

A gift of what remains in the estate after the payment of other expenses and specific bequests are paid.

“I give to the Institute of Islamic, Christian, & Jewish Studies, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation (federal tax I.D. #52-1531016), located at 956 Dulaney Valley Rd., Baltimore, MD 21204, the residue of my estate.
