Gallagher Evelius & Jones LLP Attorneys at Law has made a generous philanthropic commitment to the Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS) in honor of Kathryn Kelley Hoskins and her 34-year record of service to build an interreligious society.

The firm has established the Kathryn Kelley Hoskins Memorial Fund at ICJS to receive funds from the firm, friends, and colleagues to be used where most needed within ICJS. Gallagher Evelius & Jones has committed to contributing $55,000 to the fund through 2024.

For more than 35 years, lawyer Kathryn Kelley Hoskins practiced at Gallagher, serving institutions of higher education, private high schools, the Archdiocesan school system, and a number of healthcare institutions, social service and nonprofit organizations. She died at home of uterine cancer on July 10, 2021.

Kathy made strong contributions to the community, most notably as a founder in 1987 of the Institute for Christian and Jewish Studies (ICJS), now the Institute for Islamic, Christian and Jewish Studies. She remained dedicated to the organization, serving as president for more than 10 years, and in May 2020, she was recognized with the unique honor of “Founder Trustee.”

She spent her entire professional career at Gallagher, leading the firm’s higher education and employment practices for many years and serving as a role model and teacher for many Gallagher lawyers.

The ICJS is an independent educational nonprofit based in Baltimore and committed to building learning communities where religious difference can be a powerful force for good. Learn more at icjs.org

Gallagher and ICJS invite colleagues, friends, and associates to honor Kathy’s commitment to build an interreligious society. Contributions to the Kathryn Kelley Hoskins Memorial Fund may be made by sending a donation to ICJS, 956 Dulaney Valley Rd, Baltimore, MD 21204. Please write “Hoskins Memorial Fund” in the memo line.
